Wonder Man
The least Marvel-like Marvel series about Marvel and superheroes you’ll ever watch. The story, also available on Hulu, follows Simon (Yahya Abdull-Mateen II) an actor trying to make it in Hollywood, but who always ends up losing roles because of his anxiety. Simon is afraid people will find out he has powers, something forbidden in the industry ever since a case involving the disappearance of another actor. Add to that the incredible presence of Ben Kingsley once again as Trevor Slattery, the Mandarin from Iron Man 3.
Abbott Elementary
Quinta Brunson created and stars in the story of a group of public school teachers in Philadelphia who have to deal with budget shortages, changes in the city, situations involving parents and students, relationships, and a principal who is more concerned with going viral online. With 30-minute episodes, Abbott Elementary is one of the best comedies released in recent years and features incredible characters like Ava (Janelle James) and Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter). The series is also accessible on Hulu.
The Handmaid's Tale + The Testaments
Margaret Atwood's work is becoming more relevant than ever. The rise of theocratic societies makes this work of fiction feel increasingly close to reality. We follow the story of June Osborne, a woman who is taken to live in Gilead, a region of the U.S. controlled by a Catholic faction that seizes power with the aim of restoring peace. However, women who are able to bear children are treated as slaves by these leaders. The hit series, starring Elizabeth Moss, received a sequel with Chase Infinit in the lead role: The Testaments.
Andor
One of the best stories ever told in Star Wars, the series follows Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) on his journey to becoming the Rebel Alliance hero we see in Rogue One. Created by Tony Gilroy, the story tackles serious themes such as authoritarian governments, espionage, politics, and, of course, war, as the Galactic Empire rises and builds its ultimate weapon of destruction: the Death Star. The Star Wars galaxy has never been as dangerous or as richly diverse as it is in Andor. The series only makes the events of Rogue One and A New Hope feel even more epic.
Daredevil + Daredevil: Born Again
Between the original series and the Disney+ continuation, Daredevil became one of the most well-crafted heroes by Marvel. Brought to life by a pitch-perfect Charlie Cox in the role, and with an equally perfect nemesis in Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, the Man Without Fear had all of his facets captured and translated to television. From his role as a lawyer to the violence, from his connection to New York City to his faith, this is the definitive version of the character.
Alien: Earth
Already renewed for a second season, Alien: Earth, available on Hulu, was created by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion) and is set in 2120, when Earth is controlled by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) coexist with humans. But things change when Prodigy, founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation, discovers a new technological breakthrough: hybrids (humanoid robots endowed with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype, called "Wendy" (Syndey Chandler), marks a new beginning in the race for immortality.
Only Murders in the Building
The success of Only Murders in the Building was so great that, in its most recent seasons, it seemed like every actor wanted to be part of the story starring Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. Meryl Streep was the biggest name among them and definitively cemented the series, which follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves caught up in one while investigating the mysterious death of a neighbor in their New York apartment building. It has won 7 Emmys and dozens of other awards, including the Screen Actors Guild Award, in 2025.
Paradise
One of streaming’s biggest hits in 2025, the series won over more and more fans with each weekly release. The buzz surrounding the story made Paradise one of the year’s biggest surprises so far. Created by Dan Fogelman, the mind behind This is Us, the story follows a Secret Service agent investigating the murder of a former president in an apparently peaceful community. Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden are the biggest stars of the series.
The Bear
The series that won over a legion of fans with its blend of drama and comedy is one of those shows that, if you haven’t seen it, you have to watch—and if you’ve already tried it, you’ll want to come back for more. Now, with the premiere of its final season, the production cements its place with an excellent script and some of the most praised performances of recent years, including award winners Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edibiri and, of course, Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The many special guest appearances and the show’s editing are the special touch in this feast. “Review,” “Fishes,” and “Forks” are among the best things made for TV in recent years.
Shōgun
One of the most award-winning series of recent years, Shōgun won 18 Emmys, four Golden Globes, and dozens of other awards. Starring Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai, and Cosmo Jarvis, the story is set in feudal Japan at the beginning of the Edo period (1603) and follows the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai. A stunning feat of historical reconstruction, it was originally meant to have only one season, but after the success of its first year, it will continue with new installments set in other moments of Japan’s history.
