'Landman' Season 3 to Feature Michael Kelly from 'Lioness' and 'House of Cards'

The third season of Landman has just landed a major new addition. Michael Kelly, known for roles in series like Lioness, House of Cards, and Jack Ryan, has been confirmed as a series regular for the new season (via Deadline).

Kelly will play William Crockett, the head of the world’s largest oil management company. He is an industry titan, and everything about him exudes efficiency and money, according to the character’s official description.

It’s worth noting that Kelly’s arrival in Landman marks a new collaboration between the actor and producer Taylor Sheridan. That’s because Lioness is also a Sheridan creation, and he is also the mastermind behind the entire Yellowstone franchise.

The show is based on the podcast Boomtown, from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, and is described as "an upstairs/downstairs tale of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics."

In the second season, just as oil gushes from the ground, secrets rise to the surface as well, and Tommy Norris’s (Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, from Cami Miller (Moore), and from the shadow of his own family, surviving in West Texas isn’t noble, it’s brutal. And sooner or later, something is going to break.
