All about Alchemised
The book is based on a Harry Potter fanfic that achieved impressive numbers: 85,000 likes on AO3 (where it was published), more than 114,000 ratings on Goodreads, and 470 million collective views on TikTok. In addition, SenLinYu (the work’s author) has more than 20 million downloads across all of their independently published stories.
For its book release, the work was completely reimagined. The story follows Paladia, a fictional country, in a postwar period. In this context, necromancers have taken power, defeating the Eternal Flame resistance and forming corrupt guilds to rule the region. The main character, Helena, wakes up with parts of her memory missing, but as the story unfolds, we realize that she is a central figure in the resistance and may be hiding valuable information in the darkest parts of her mind.
As a result, she is being held captive by the second most powerful man in the country: Kaine Ferron is next in line to inherit the new throne. Little by little, Helena realizes she will have to fight for her freedom and understands that she will need to uncover her captor’s secrets if she wants to survive.
