'GTA 6' to Have Twice as Many Animations as 'Red Dead Redemption 2'
The game should achieve unprecedented realism with a wide variety of movements.
Grand Theft Auto VI will feature more than 600,000 different animations in the game. That number is impressive on its own, but it becomes even more striking when compared to Red Dead Redemption 2. The western title, already considered one of the most realistic games in history, has 300,000.
This metric doesn’t refer only to characters; it applies to virtually every element in the game that has some kind of movement. Tree leaves, ocean waves, dogs asking to be petted, and so on.
Over the past week, some reports about Rockstar revealed that the company was aiming for unprecedented realism in GTA VI, and after the Extended Look released last Thursday (27), several figures backing up that goal were made public.
Beyond the animations, we’ll also get a map twice the size of GTA V’s, along with a campaign expected to last around 80 hours.
