During the Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look reveal this Thursday (27), Rockstar showed several gameplay details for GTA VI, including how police chases work.
Based on what had already been shown in the leaks, the police do not immediately go after Jason and Lucia. However, the stars are highlighted on the character, and when someone reports the incident, the search for the character begins.

In the mission that was shown, Jason and Lucia need to face waves of police cars, with their vehicle also being identified by the officers. As for the chase mechanics, the game seems to keep the classic police pursuit style from the other GTA games, with the characters being confronted by officers as they appear around Vice City.
Another important point is that Jason and Lucia need to switch cars to throw off the police, even going so far as to destroy the previous car they were using.
Everything you need to know about GTA VI
Once again developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI is the first GTA in thirteen years, following the astronomical success of GTA V, released in 2013. The franchise is one of the most successful in video game history.
The story of GTA VI takes place in an open world based on Florida, in the United States. Its setting is Vice City, a fictional version of Miami that debuted in the first GTA and later got its own game with 2002’s GTA Vice City.
GTA VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. A PC version has not yet been announced.
