The new trailer for Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu came with a global announcement involving The Pokémon Company and Disney+. The pocket monster productions will now be distributed by the streaming service in the United States as well as in some international markets (via Variety).
The first sign came with the premiere of Pokémon the Series: The Beginning. It’s worth noting that Pokémon Tales will also be a Disney+ exclusive.
A large portion of the animated adventures of Ash, Pikachu, and company is available on Netflix. The partnership also produced Pokémon Concierge, which portrays the life of a girl who starts working at a hotel full of the little creatures.
Pokémon Tales premieres in 2027, still without a set release window, on Disney+. By the time it arrives, the pocket monsters’ presence on the platform will likely be much bigger already.
