Were the 'GTA 6' Leaks Real?

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, which premiered this Thursday (27) exclusively on Netflix, Rockstar Games showed off several gameplay details from GTA VI, story details, and also confirmed that one of the scenes from the leak was in the video.

The incident that dominated the week before the content was released on Netflix brought to light a series of materials related to the game, showing everything from movement and vehicles to even a nudist party.

However, in An Extended Look, the only scene that had also appeared in the leaks is the one where Jason plays basketball. Still, to be fair, a good portion of the gameplay mechanics—such as driving and shooting—shown in the leak also appeared in the Netflix content.

Once again developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI is the first GTA in thirteen years, following the astronomical success of GTA V, released in 2013. The franchise is one of the most successful in video game history.

The story of GTA VI takes place in an open world based on Florida, in the United States. Its setting is Vice City, a fictional version of Miami that debuted in the first GTA and later got its own game with 2002’s GTA Vice City.

GTA VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. A PC version has not yet been announced.
