According to Business Insider, Bank of America projects that Grand Theft Auto VI's multiplayer mode could arrive on the market as early as 2027. In a memo sent to investors, the bank stated that the new GTA Online should be released in the first quarter of the year, that is, between January and March.
The bank's bet comes at a time of volatility for Take-Two. Despite GTA VI being the biggest launch in the company's history, scheduled for November, the company's shares have fallen 21% this year and were below $200 this week. For Bank of America, however, this is the ideal time to buy the shares, which "remain cheap" . The institution recommends maintaining a buy position throughout the game's launch.
The big advantage, according to the analysis, is that investors haven't yet calculated the billion-dollar potential of the new multiplayer mode. Rockstar 's strategy is expected to follow the model of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, which were launched focusing on single-player mode and received online support later.
The big bet is that revenue from microtransactions in GTA Online 2.0 will surpass the records of its predecessor. The bank also suggests that the PC version of GTA VI may arrive around the same time to further boost revenue.
With this scenario in mind, Bank of America issued a "buy" recommendation for Take-Two, with a target price of $330 per share. This value, although lower than the previous projection of $380, indicates a potential appreciation of more than 60% compared to the current market price.
