'Wonka's The Golden Ticket' Gets New Trailer with Gene Wilder's Voice by AI
A New Netflix Reality Show Recreates Roald Dahl’s Iconic Chocolate Factory
Wonka's The Golden Ticket, Netflix’s new competition reality show, has released a trailer and features an unusual addition: the voice of Gene Wilder, who played Willy Wonka in the 1971 classic, recreated using artificial intelligence. The production premieres on September 23 and brings together 12 contestants and their partners for challenges inside a replica of the whimsical and famous chocolate factory. The finale will be released a week later, on the 30th.
Inspired by the world of Roald Dahl, the reality show puts contestants through challenges that reference the classic, including a game involving edible wallpaper and a “Wonkavision” set. The AI-recreated voice will be used by the competition’s mysterious narrator. The technology was developed by ElevenLabs in partnership with Wilder’s heirs, following his death in 2016.
