In an announcement made during the Edinburgh TV Festival, Netflix confirmed that Kate Winslet will star in the limited series The Unheard, written by Jack Thorne (Adolescence) and directed by Mounia Akl.
The five-episode production is described as a revenge drama in the vein of Thelma & Louise and is set to begin filming next year.

The story follows two sisters, played by Winslet and Maxine Peake (Say Nothing), who go on the run after an act of revenge goes wrong. The synopsis reveals: "As they are desperately pursued, we ask ourselves: what drove them to this reckless act, and did they ever intend to get away with it?"
The series is produced by Warp Films, Matriarch Productions, and Plan B, with Winslet serving as executive producer alongside Thorne, Mark Herbert, Emily Feller, Hannah Walters, Stephen Graham, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Nina Wolarsky.
