Netflix has announced two new spin-off series from Top Boy, the British crime drama set in East London. The spin-offs will focus on Jonny, Barry Keoghan’s character, and Jaq, played by Jasmine Jobson, expanding the show’s universe nearly three years after the original series ended.

The first series, titled Jonny Boy will have five episodes and serve as a prequel, exploring the origins of the violent Irish criminal played by Keoghan. The series will be written by Ronan Bennett, creator of Top Boy, with Ali Abbasi directing.

Meanwhile, Jaq, still a working title, will have six episodes and follow Jacqueline after the events of Top Boy. The production will be created and written by Ryan Calais Cameron, with Jasmine Jobson also serving as an executive producer.

Both series are set to begin filming in 2027. Ronan Bennett will executive produce both projects, alongside names such as Drake, who helped bring Top Boy back to Netflix as an executive producer, as well as Barry Keoghan and Ali Abbasi on Jonny Boy and Jobson and Cameron on Jaq.
