'Law & Order: SVU' Casts 'Succession' Actress for Season 28

Actress J. Smith-Cameron, known for her role in Succession, has been cast in a recurring role in the 28th season of Law & Order: SVU. She will play Gwen Sharpe, a jury consultant who will work alongside Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson). The character will make her debut in the first episode of the new season, on October 8, on NBC.

The series follows the team of detectives from New York’s Special Victims Unit as they investigate crimes involving sexual abuse, domestic violence, and offenses against children.

The main cast includes Ice-T, Peter Scanavino, Kelli Giddish, Kevin Kane, Aimé Donna Kelly, and Corey Cott. The series is produced by Dick Wolf, with Michelle Fazekas, Mariska Hargitay, Kenneth Brown, Rebecca McGill, Anastasia Puglisi, and Peter Jankowski serving as executive producers.

Smith-Cameron is known for her role as Gerri Kellman in Succession, which earned her two Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe nomination, and a Critics Choice Award nomination. Her upcoming projects include the FX series Seven Sisters, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti, and the film In Our Sweet Way, by Jeff Rutherford.
