Everything you need to know about Blue Eye Samurai
Blue Eye Samurai is an animated series created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, released in November 2023. Set in Japan during the Edo period, it follows Mizu, a mixed-race young woman with blue eyes who, shaped by growing up on the margins of society, dedicates her life to taking revenge on the four white men who were in the country when she was born — among them, possibly her father.
The series features an all-star voice cast: Maya Erskine plays Mizu, alongside Brenda Song, Masi Oka, Darren Barnet, George Takei, Kenneth Branagh and Randall Park.
Blue Eye Samurai premiered in 2023 and won four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program.
