'The Pitt' Season 3 Adds New Cast Members from 'The Last of Us' and More

The third season of The Pitt is welcoming seven new names to its recurring cast. The medical drama, one of HBO Max's biggest hits, will add new patients, a doctor, and a hospital executive to the storyline set at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.

The new cast members are:

• Stephen Chang (Bosch: Legacy) as Mitch Connors, an ER patient;
• Barry Clifton (The Madison) as David “Bear” Burton, an ER patient;
• Chris Diamantopoulos (Dark Matter) as Dr. Asher Grossman, medical director of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center;
• Lawrence Kao (Criminal) as Harold Joslyn, an ER patient;
• Brent Sexton (Deadwood) as Daryl Oates, an ER patient;
• JB Tadena (Kung Fu) as Dr. Reed Thomas, a hospital physician;
• Hannah Ware (The One) as Charlotte Boyle, an ER patient.

What’s coming in season 3 of The Pitt?

The new season will be set on November 12, 2026, the day after Veterans Day in the United States and just a few weeks before Thanksgiving. The story will continue following, in real time, the ER staff as they deal with medical cases and personal crises.

According to Noah Wyle, who also serves as an executive producer, the third season will show doctors becoming patients and will explore Robby’s recovery process. The weather will also play an important role in the plot, with the arrival of fall in Pittsburgh bringing new kinds of emergencies, such as accidents caused by slippery roads, fires, and cold-related issues.

In addition to the new names, the cast will once again include Katherina LaNasa, Sepideh Moafi, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Fiona Dourif, Shabana Azeez, Gerran Howell, and Ayesha Harris. Pruitt Taylor Vince, Malachi Beasley, Cheyenne Perez, Jeremy Radin, Charlz Williams, and Rosanny Zayas were also previously announced for the new season.

Season 3 premieres in 2027 on HBO Max.
