'The Legend of Zelda' Live-action Confirms Official Title at Nintendo Direct

During the Nintendo Direct presentation this Tuesday (8)—held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise—Nintendo revealed that the official title of the live-action movie will be The Legend of Zelda. 

According to Shigeru Miyamoto, the feature film will tell an original story within the franchise, aiming to capture the essence of the saga through a brand-new narrative. 

The live-action The Legend of Zelda is directed by Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes). Officially confirmed cast members include Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as the warrior Link. Uli Latukefu will play the villain Ganondorf. The film is scheduled to premiere on April 30, 2027.
