David Corenswet Compares 'Man of Tomorrow' to 'The Empire Strikes Back'
The new Superman movie arrives in theaters worldwide in July 2027.
Star David Corenswet, the new Superman in the movies, said that Man of Tomorrow, which is a sequel to the 2026 film, is like Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.
"Well, the thing I thought about was the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back and how excited I get when we reunite with Luke, Han, and Lei ," Corenswet told Entertainment Tonight.
He continued, explaining that "It was very exciting to hear James [Gunn] talk about how he wanted to take the characters, especially the relationships between Superman and Lex, and then between Clark and Lois, into their second phase. They've been through more in the meantime, so in Man of Tomorrow we find them in these more solid and established situations, but the risk is obviously that these things will be jeopardized."
