'LEGO' Live-Action Musical Reveals Cast and Release Date
The feature is produced by the creator of High School Musical.
The LEGO universe is getting a live-action musical film inspired by the Lego Friends franchise. The first names in the cast, according to Variety, are young British theatre stars Jada Langley and Gino Ochello.
The 90-minute feature film has the potential to become the Lego version of High School Musical thanks to a particular name behind the scenes. That would be the legendary Kenny Ortega (High School Musical, Hocus Pocus, and Descendants), who is set to produce while Paul Becker (The Last of Us and God of War) will helm the production.
The story follows Daisy (Langley), a young girl who turns to building blocks as she tries to adjust to a new school in a new country. When she finds a mysterious key, she is transported to Heartlake City, where she makes new friends. But they soon need her help to save an important local landmark with plenty of songs and dances along the way.
Lego Friends: Heartlake the Musical premieres October 16 on Netflix and on the Lego YouTube channel.
