Hollywood Legend Eva Marie Saint Dies at 102
The actress has appeared in classics such as North by Northwest and On the Waterfront.
Oscar-winning actress Eva Marie Saint who starred in memorable classic films such as On the Waterfront and North by Northwest, died Tuesday (6) in Los Angeles. She was 102 years old.
Saint won her only Oscar for On the Waterfront, for which she took home the Best Supporting Actress award in 1955. She was the oldest living winner.
As she chose to prioritize her family from the late 1950s onward, Saint resumed acting intermittently; many of her later appearances were in theatre and television, such as in the hit 1980s series Moonlighting and, later, the role of Martha Kent in 2006's Superman Returns.
In film, she also acted in the classic Exodus , from 1960, directed by Otto Preminger and co-starring Paul Newman. Goodbye to Illusions (1965), The Night of the Ambush (1968) and A Tale of Destiny (2014) are other titles in her filmography.
In voice acting, despite having few voice roles, Eva Marie Saint also stood out by voicing the older version of Katara in Avatar: The Legend of Korra.
