Laura Linney Joins Michael Keaton and Morgan Freeman in 'Rode to Ruin'

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Laura Linney has joined the cast of Rode to Ruin, a Western thriller that Michael Keaton will direct and that also stars Morgan Freeman.

The actress will play Hedda Tessman, a frontier merchant who works alone in Old West territory and is the only person the aging outlaw has allowed close to him in years. When violence comes for both men, Hedda proves to be a reckoning neither of them saw coming.

Keaton will play retired marshal Henry Tillman, while Freeman will portray fugitive Joseph Mulberry. The story follows a retired marshal’s 40-year hunt for his wife’s killer, which leads him to an elderly outlaw losing his memory, and to a buried truth neither of them can survive.

Angel has acquired the film’s worldwide rights and will distribute it in the United States, while its international sales arm is shopping the project at the Toronto Film Festival market.
