The marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI is transforming Miami into Vice City. A giant "Welcome to Vice City" sign has been installed atop the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat.

According to information from The Miami Herald, Miami-Dade County will collect $975,000 from this sign alone, which is part of an agreement between Rockstar and local authorities. Miami-Dade is concentrating the most elaborate displays, but other areas of the metropolitan region, including Miami Beach and the city of Miami itself, have also signed agreements with the developer.

The proposal to occupy the city with advertising recently passed the approval of public officials, despite protests from some police officers in the region. Fans have been following the installation of the sign via live cameras from the city since the beginning of the day.

The structure is large enough to be impactful even from a distance, and it's still unclear if it's complete, as it's currently facing upwards.

Everything you need to know about GTA VI

Once again developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI is the first GTA in thirteen years, following the astronomical success of GTA V, released in 2013. The franchise is one of the most successful in video game history.

The story of GTA VI takes place in an open world based on Florida, in the United States. Its setting is Vice City, a fictional version of Miami that debuted in the first GTA and later got its own game with 2002’s GTA Vice City.

GTA VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. A PC version has not yet been announced.
