'Wonder Woman' Prequel and 'Waller' Are No Longer a Priority at DCU

Waller, a Peacemaker spin-off, and Paradise Lost, a Wonder Woman prequel, were no longer in active development at DC Studios. According to an Entertainment Weekly report, both shows were put on a temporary backseat at HBO's order of priority.

Paradise Lost and Waller were among the projects announced by James Gunn and Peter Safran for the first chapter of the new DC Universe.

Paradise Lost would be set on Themyscira, before Wonder Woman’s birth, and would explore the political disputes and the society formed by the Amazons. In June of this year, writers Kira Snyder (The Handmaid's Tale) and Janet Lin (Bridgerton) had been hired to develop the series.

Meanwhile, Waller would be a Peacemaker spin-off centered on Amanda Waller, Viola Davis’s character, continuing the agent’s story after her appearances in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. The production would feature scripts by Christal Henry (Watchmen) and Jeremy Carver (Doom Patrol), with Davis also serving as an executive producer.
