New 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 23 Photos Show Meredith, Amelia and More

New exclusive images from the 23rd season of Grey's Anatomy have been released by Entertainment Weekly The photos show characters such as Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington), Link (Chris Carmack), and Toni Wright (Jen Landon) in the new episodes of the medical drama.

The images preview the doctors' return to Grey Sloan Memorial after the events of the previous season finale. Among the highlights is Amelia, who will face new complications in her personal life after reuniting with Toni and becoming involved with Cass Beckman (Sophia Bush).

The plot should also address the consequences of the accident that left Link with a possible dependence on painkillers after a new shoulder injury. As he and Amelia share custody of their son, the two are expected to meet again, although the actress has not confirmed a possible romantic reconciliation.

The 23rd season will also mark a new phase for the cast after the departures of Kevin McKidd, who played Owen Hunt, and Kim Raver, who played Teddy Altman. On the other hand, Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) and James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber) are back, as are the other veterans.

Ellen Pompeo will also continue to appear in the production as Meredith Grey, albeit in a reduced role. According to Scorsone, the character remains involved in Alzheimer's research alongside Amelia, while her narration continues to be present in the episodes.

The 23rd season of Grey's Anatomy premieres on October 15th on ABC.
