Apple TV Renews 'Slow Horses' For Season 8

Apple TV is betting big on Slow Horses. After the series won another Emmy for Best Directing in a Drama Series, this time with Saul Metzstein, the spy drama starring Gary Oldman has been renewed for an 8th season.

The new season will have six episodes and will be based on Clown Town , the ninth book in Mick Herron's Slough House series. Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant and grumpy leader of the MI5 team working at the discredited Slough House.

Season eight will pit Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) against each other in their most explosive confrontation yet. According to the synopsis, a failed attempt to blackmail Park, MI5's intelligence agency, puts Taverner on the offensive. It will then be up to Lamb to uncover one of the organization's darkest secrets and end the threat once and for all.

The renewal comes just before the premiere of season 6, which arrives on Apple TV this Wednesday, September 16th.
