'Formula 1: Drive to Survive' Netflix Renews Documentary Series for Season 9

Netflix has renewed Formula 1: Drive to Survive for a 9th season, which will arrive on the platform in 2027. The new batch of episodes will follow the behind-the-scenes of the 2026 Formula 1 season, showcasing the championship’s biggest rivalries and key moments.

Since its debut in 2019, the documentary series has become one of Netflix’s biggest hits by revealing Formula 1’s behind-the-scenes, including rivalries between drivers, team decisions, and decisive moments on and off the track.

“This year, we’re going deeper than ever before into the hidden corners of this fantastic sport,” said James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin, executive producers at Box to Box, the company behind the production.
