For the very first Thanksgiving Eve professional football broadcast, a monumental rock band is stepping up to entertain viewers.

The league revealed on Tuesday that U2 is scheduled to headline the intermission show for the November 25 showdown featuring the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams, broadcast live via Netflix. The performance will emanate from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California—the same venue slated to host Super Bowl LXI, whose own halftime headliner has not yet been named.

While Thanksgiving Day itself boasts a storied history of memorable gridiron concert spectacles, streaming platforms are quickly making these halftime spectacles major cultural events. Netflix previously brought massive star power to its holiday broadcasts, featuring Beyoncé for Christmas in 2024 and Snoop Dogg in 2025.

It won't be the group's first massive football stage. Back in 2002, the iconic Irish rockers performed during the Super Bowl XXXVI intermission, a poignant appearance that came shortly after the September 11 attacks.

The upcoming television appearance also aligns with the rollout of the group's sixteenth studio record, "Carnaval de Luz," set to hit shelves on November 13. Fans have already heard three tracks ahead of the full drop: "Street of Dreams," "Silencio," and "The Greatest Show on Earth," with a global concert tour in support of the record slated for 2027.
