Sophia Laforteza Won't Return to KATSEYE Until 2027; Learn Why

KATSEYE member Sophia Laforteza is scheduled to return to the group's activities on January 2027. A statement published by the joint venture between HYBE and Geffen Record clarified that the singer will once again be present on public events alongside Daniela Avanzini, Yoonchae, Lara Raj and Megan Skiendiel.

"Sophia has been prioritizing her health and well-being with our full support and resources. While Sophia will not be participating in the THE WILDWORLD TOUR in North America, or promotional activities for the remainder of this year, we look forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE continues this next chapter together in 2027", the companies said. Sophia herself also commented on the matter. In an Instagram stories, she said: "It deeply hurts not being able to participate in the rest of the tour this year. I'm going to use this time to continue training and get myself back where I need to be. As much as I wanted to simply move on, I understood that sometimes having the courage to take a step back is what allows you to move forward."

It's worth noticing that KATSEYE is currently dealing with the absence of two members of the original formation. Manon Bannerman has been on a temporary hiatus from the global group since February 2026, and no formal declaration regarding a possible return or her official departure from the group has been published so far. 

Recently, Daniela responded to a fan in public after being questioned by Manon's absence. In a video, the singer states that she misses the group's main visual, but is "not sure" why she hasn't returned to KATSEYE yet.
