Kit Connor Cast as Cyclops in MCU's 'X-Men' Film

The X-Men of the MCU are coming, and it looks like we finally have a Cyclops cast. According to Deadline, Kit Connor has been chosen by Marvel to play Scott Summers, the leader of the X-Men, in the team’s reboot, which is expected to premiere around mid-2028.

According to the outlet, just like in the case of Samara Weaving, who will play Emma Frost, Cyclops’ casting was full of back-and-forth until Kevin Feige and the studio decided to go with Connor. The actor had also previously been rumored to play Beast.

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Scott Summers first appeared in comics in 1963. The leader of the X-Men, the character has the ability to fire energy blasts from his eyes, controlled with the help of a special visor.

In theaters, Cyclops was previously played by James Marsden and Tye Sheridan. Marsden will return to the role in Avengers: Doctor Doom, while Connor is expected to take over the character in the new film dedicated to the mutants.

Jake Schreier, of Thunderbolts*, will direct the project. Lee Sung Jin, creator of Beef, and Joanna Calo, co-creator of The Bear, are working on the screenplay. Best known for Heartstopper, Connor also appeared in Warfare and is part of the cast of the Elden Ring adaptation.

The new X-Men still does not have a release date.
