Curry Barker's Next Film After 'Obsession' Will Be Released in 2027

Focus Features will release Anything But Ghosts, Curry Barker's next film, on May 7, 2027. The horror comedy is directed by Barker, who co-wrote the screenplay with Cooper Tomlinson, his longtime collaborator and co-star in Obsession, his film debut.

The two also star in the film, alongside Violet McGraw, Chris Reinacher, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Aaron Paul. The plot follows a group of aspiring ghost hunters seeking fame who get themselves into a situation that spirals out of control.

The film is produced by Jason Blum, Roy Le , Steven Schneider, Adam Hendricks, and Greg Gilreath, with Daniel Bekerman, Barker, Tomlinson, and Ben Ross serving as executive producers.

Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky Pictures, and Divide/Conquer are producing in association with Image Nation and That's a Bad Idea. Focus holds worldwide rights, and Universal Pictures International is distributing outside the United States.

The story follows a young romantic who decides to break the mysterious One Wish Willow to win over the person he is in love with. His wish does come true, but he soon discovers that meddling with unknown forces can bring dark and dangerous consequences.

The cast includes Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter. 

Obsession was acclaimed at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), screened at festivals such as Fantastic Fest, and won the Audience Award at Sitges. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a 94% approval rating.
