'Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest' Gets a Theatrical Release Date

Warner Bros. announced on Tuesday (29) the official release date for Game of Thrones: Aegon's Conquest, a film that will adapt one of the most famous stories of Westeros for cinemas.

The film adaptation of Aegon's Conquest will arrive in theaters on June 6, 2029. This will be the first adaptation of George RR Martin's universe for the big screen; no additional information, such as casting, has been revealed yet. 

Owen Harris , the director who helmed several episodes of the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, including the acclaimed fifth episode, "In the Name of the Mother," will direct the film, which features a screenplay by Beau Willimon, House of Cards and Andor veteran.

The film will focus on Aegon, the Targaryen king who used dragons to conquer the seven kingdoms of Westeros, thus beginning the dynasty that in the series brought characters like Daenerys and Rhaenyra.
