'Obsession' Star Inde Navarette to Campaign for 2027 Oscars

Inde Navarrette is entering the race for the 2027 Oscars. The actress will be submitted by Focus Features in the Best Actress category for her performance in Obsession, a horror film that has become one of the year’s biggest box office sensations. The news was reported exclusively by Variety.
In the film, Navarrette plays Nikki, a character whose arc demands a physically intense performance. The actress’s work, praised by both critics and audiences, is being pointed to as one of the production’s biggest strengths this awards season.
Obsession is also entering the race with an impressive box office result. The feature has already surpassed $500 million worldwide, despite being produced on a budget of just $750,000.

The story follows a young romantic who decides to break the mysterious One Wish Willow to win over the person he is in love with. The wish does come true, but he soon discovers that meddling with unknown forces can bring dark and dangerous consequences.
The cast includes Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter.
Obsession was acclaimed at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), screened at festivals such as Fantastic Fest, and won the Audience Award at Sitges. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a 94% approval rating.
