G.I. Joe Gets Snake Eyes, Destro, and More Statues at SDCC 2026

G.I. Joe is getting a new movie soon from Paramount, directed by Danny McBride, but before more news starts to come out, Hasbro’s toy line got a collection of statues from Iron Studios at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). The feature film is based on Hasbro’s toy line, which became popular in the 1980s with an animated series. The new version is expected to feature the Joe team, with characters like Duke, Roadblock, and Snake Eyes. The franchise has already had three theatrical films: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), and the spin-off Snake Eyes (2021).

Danny McBride, known for creating and starring in HBO series like The Righteous Gemstones, Eastbound & Down, and Vice Principals, will direct the new movie. On the big screen, he appeared in Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder and Alien: Covenant. He also co-wrote and produced the Halloween trilogy.

Recently, rumors indicated that Bradley Cooper is expected to replace Chris Hemsworth in the movie.
