Prime Video accidentally made the film Mutiny, starring Jason Statham, available on its platform ahead of its official theatrical release, which takes place this Friday (21).
The 95-minute feature was available to stream for more than two hours, with full cast details, artwork, and synopsis, before being removed and once again listed as unavailable.
The mistake, which does not appear to have been intentional or part of a marketing strategy, is even more embarrassing for Amazon since the film is distributed in the U.S. by Lionsgate. The incident increases the risk of the full movie leaking online.
In the story, Statham plays Cole Reed, a man whose billionaire boss is murdered right in front of him. Reed is framed for the crime and must go on the run while uncovering an international conspiracy.
Mutiny opens in theaters on September 10.
