A new rumor suggests that the remake of Dragon Ball Super will have around 19 or 20 episodes. The new version of the anime is set to premiere in October and is expected to adapt the first three arcs of the original series, with changes and cuts in the style of Dragon Ball Z Kai.
According to information from YouTuber Geekdom 101, the Beerus arc will be reduced from 14 to six episodes, while the Golden Frieza arc will have six or seven. Meanwhile, the Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 Tournament arc will be condensed into just seven episodes.
With that, the remake would wrap up between the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027. Expectations are that the Moro arc, also known as the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, will be adapted next. The information, however, has not yet been made official by Toei Animation.
