Jung Hae-in also fell for the romance between Jang Tae-ha and Go Eun-sae, the two leads of the k-drama Our Sticky Lovewhen he first read the script for the Netflix series.

Despite the intense blend of genres the title brings together (romantic comedy, noir, suspense, action), it was the sweetness of the connection between the two characters that made Jung accept the role of Tae-ha, the first South Korean TV role for the Love Next Door actor since 2024.

In the series, Eun-sae (Ha Young) wakes up in a hospital in the Korean countryside with no memory. Before she can make sense of anything, Tae-ha (Jung Hae-in) shows up claiming to be her boyfriend. At first, she doesn’t know whether she can trust him—and deep down, there’s a very good reason for that.

Check out an excerpt from Jung’s interview with Omelete!

OMELETE: Our Sticky Love is your first k-drama in two years. What about Jang Tae-ha made this role a unique challenge for you as an actor?

JUNG: There were many challenges. As a romantic comedy that also involves noir, suspense, and action, the action side of it was quite physically demanding. On top of that, Tae-ha is a man of few words and lots of action, so I spent a lot of time thinking about how to fill the empty spaces between his lines.

OMELETE: As you mentioned, this series is a mix of romantic comedy, mystery, and suspense. Why do you think those genres work so well together, and what was your reaction when you first read the script?

JUNG: I’ve always wanted to bring joy to audiences through my acting, so I feel lucky to have found a project like this. I especially like that Our Sticky Love is about romance, because that’s something I feel is missing these days. That was what drew me most to the script.

Our Sticky Love is now available to stream on Netflix.
