Xbox employees will have one more mandatory in-person workday per week. According to The Verge, the company will adopt a four-day in-person model starting in February 2027.
The decision applies to employees who are within walking distance (80 kilometers) of the company's office in Washington. The idea is that working physically together will facilitate review processes, problem-solving, and decision-making.
The news, of course, comes amid a very complicated few months for the company: Xbox carried out further layoffs a few weeks ago, dissolving Halo Studios and leaving Ninja Theory in a state of uncertainty. According to previous reports, even more employees are expected to be cut in the coming months.
In the gaming world, at least, the company seems to be riding a wave of success, with praise for Gears of War: E-Day and the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which hasn't been released yet but has already had open tests with the public and received positive reactions.
