Microsoft has denied that Grand Theft Auto VI will be available for PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming. The statement comes in response to a report from The Verge claiming that Xbox had secured the streaming rights for the game and that the title could be accessed on PC through the cloud service. According to Matthew Ball, Xbox's director of strategy, the information released was incorrect.

“While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC”, Ball stated on social media.

The original report stated that an unidentified source from Xbox said Asha Sharma anticipated the exclusive deal to employees during a general meeting.

Everything you need to know about GTA VI

Once again developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI is the first GTA in thirteen years, following the astronomical success of GTA V, released in 2013. The franchise is one of the most successful in video game history.

The story of GTA VI takes place in an open world based on Florida, in the United States. Its setting is Vice City, a fictional version of Miami that debuted in the first GTA and later got its own game with 2002’s GTA Vice City.

GTA VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. A PC version has not yet been announced.
