'Warrior Nun' Franchise Could Be Revived by the Series Creator; Learn More

Warrior Nun fans have reason to celebrate. The franchise based on Ben Dunn's comics is in the final stages of negotiations to become a shared universe of movies and series after its first adaptation was canceled by Netflix after just two seasons.

According to Deadline, Simon Barry and his production company Reality Distortion Field (RDF) are in the final stages of negotiations to license some of the copyrights to the original comic book series and related intellectual property, which spans more than 100 issues and specials.

The Netflix series follows Ava (Alba Baptista), a 19-year-old girl who wakes up in a morgue. There, she discovers that after her death, she was called to join an ancient order that fights the demons trying to claim her soul in the afterlife. The show is an adaptation of Warrior Nun Areala, an American comic book with a manga-inspired style originally introduced in 1994.

Warrior Nun has two seasons available on Netflix.
