P-Valley will come to an end with its third season, which will have nine episodes and premieres on December 4 with two back-to-back episodes on Starz. The second season had ended in August 2022, four years ago.

Creator and showrunner Katori Hall wrote a letter to fans explaining the decision to end the series. "There comes a time when every stripper has to hang up her heels. Seventeen years in this dance, that time has come," she said. Hall shared that she began writing the story in 2009, at the kitchen table in her Hell's Kitchen apartment in New York.

In the new season's story, the newly opened Promised Land Casino floods Chucalissa with money, and the town's heroes discover that more cash brings more chaos. Back at The Pynk, Uncle Clifford (Nicco Annan) dreams of expanding his empire, while Roulette (Gail Bean) breaks the club's cardinal rule to build her own. Lil' Murda's (J. Alphonse Nicholson) gang ties threaten to clip his wings, and a cornered Keyshawn (Shannon Thornton) fights to break free and fly.

The returning cast includes Nicco Annan, Brandee Evans, Shannon Thornton, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Harriett D. Foy, Dan J. Johnson, Gail Bean, Psalms Salazar, Morocco Omari, Dominic DeVore, Jordan M. Cox, Thomas Q. Jones, Bertram Williams Jr., Mea Wilkerson, and Loretta Devine.

Based on the play Pussy Valley, the series is produced by Lionsgate Television for Starz. Hall serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Jennifer Arnold, Debbie Hayn-Cass, Kemiyondo Coutinho, and Ian Olympio as co-executive producers.
