'The Kane Chronicles' Disney+ Series by Rick Riordan Moving Forward
Disney Confirms Kane Chronicles Series for Disney+ with Rick Riordan and Angela Robinson
Disney officially confirmed that the adaptation of The Kane Chronicles for Disney+ is moving forward on its development.
The production will be created by Rick Riordan and Robinson (How to Get Away with Murder, True Blood, The L Word), with production by 20th Television.
The series follows siblings Carter and Sadie Kane, descendants of pharaohs, who must master the Egyptian magic they inherited to rescue their father and stop warring gods from unleashing chaos on the modern world. The series is based on the book trilogy–The Red Pyramid, The Throne of Fire and The Serpent's Shadow–set in the same universe as Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Previously in development at Netflix as a film trilogy, the project's right went back to Riordan in 2024. The new adaptation is heading to Disney+ following the success of the Percy Jackson series, which premiered in 2023 hitting nearly 30 million views in less than a month.
Riordan, Robinson, Rebecca Riordan, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell will serve as executive producers. There are still no details on the cast or premiere date.
