Mayim Bialik is back in the universe of The Big Bang Theory in the spin-off Stuart Fails to Save the Universe . The actress reprised her character Amy Farrah Fowler in two appearances in the first season and told Entertainment Weekly that she accepted the invitation without much reluctance. "The proposition was: 'We'd like you to do anything,' and I wasn't going to play hard to get," she stated.

“Just the idea of this multiverse and a different version of Amy made me think: 'Done. I'm in.' I was curious, like, would I be a stripper? Would I be a housewife? I'm up for anything. In the end, they like me in a lab coat, and I don't mind that either,” Bialik added.

The first appearance occurs in Episode 4, when Amy appears as a psychiatrist trying to understand if the visions of Stuart (Kevin Sussman) wonders if alternate universes are real or a figment of his imagination. According to Bialik, this new version of the character required few changes compared to the original Amy. “I can be this psychiatrist who is analyzing much of what the audience should be wondering: Is Stuart losing his mind?”, he explained.

In the 9th and penultimate episode, the series took Amy to an even more unexpected situation: a version of the character appears in the DC universe as the wife of Jay Garrick, the Flash. Bialik said she never imagined receiving such an invitation. "I never thought that, in my life, I would play the wife of a superhero," she said. For her, the participation gained even more special significance because it placed a character from TBBT within a comic book universe.

More than just returning to play Amy, however, Bialik highlighted that she accepted the role to support the stars of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, Kevin Sussman, John Ross Bowie, Brian Posehn, and Lauren Lapkus, former recurring names from The Big Bang Theory. The actress said she felt "the purest expression of joy" seeing them finally at the center of a new production. Check out the full list here of every TBBT character who appears in the spinoff.

The series releases new episodes weekly on Thursdays. The first season has 10 episodes, so the final episode arrives on September 24th, concluding Stuart's journey through the multiverse.
