The series, a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory, follows Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman), the owner of a comic book shop, who is tasked with restoring reality after breaking a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally triggering a multiversal apocalypse.
He is helped by his girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus), his friend Bert (Brian Posehn) and quantum physicist Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie). Along the way, they encounter alternate versions of characters from the original series.
The show was recently renewed for a second season. In a statement, HBO executive vice president of programming Amy Gravitt said: "We’re thrilled by the way this hilarious and inventive show created by Chuck, Zak and Bill has connected with audiences — both devoted The Big Bang Theory fans and newcomers alike. We can’t wait to see the next worlds they’ll conjure up for these beloved characters in season two."
New episodes of the first season are released weekly on Thursdays on HBO Max, with the season finale scheduled for September 24.
