Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette will play Jacob Merrick, a small-town police officer from the 13th book by Lee Child in his Jack Reacher series, Gone Tomorrow, which the new season is based on. Jacob becomes Jack Reacher’s (Ritchson) number one ally in his new mission.

The book begins when Reacher witnesses a suicide on the New York City subway. He soon discovers that the woman was part of the Pentagon and had been caught up in a conspiracy involving a corrupt politician, Al Qaeda terrorists, and several assassins. Reacher then races against the clock with the woman’s brother, Jacob, to uncover the mystery of why Susan Mark killed herself, find her missing son, and also save his own life from powerful people.
