Nicholas Hoult Cast as Gilderoy Lockhart in 'Harry Potter' Season 2
Actor is moving on from Lex Luthor to another popular villain.
Nicholas Hoult is set to play Gilderoy Lockhart, one of the many villains related to the Harry Potter universe, in the new rendition of the franchise for HBO's series. The information comes from a Deadline report.
Hoult is supposed to be introduced in the second season of the show, which will adapt Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the second book of the saga written by J.K. Rowling.

The Harry Potter series, whose first season will adapt The Philosopher’s Stone, premieres at Christmas 2026. Previous confirmed cast includes Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, John Lightow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and more.
The second season is set to start filming Fall 2026, even before the release of the first one. Francesca Gardiner is a showrunner for both seasons, while writer Jon Brown joins her for the second.
