'Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story' Debuts on Top of Netflix's English Ranking

The new season of Monster, titled The Lizzie Borden Story, debuted at the top of Netflix's English-language series list for the week of September 14-20, with 12.1 million views in its first four days.

The number is virtually identical to the premiere of The Ed Gein Story, which had an extra day to build an audience, and similar to The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, which recorded 12.3 million in four days.

Ryan Murphy 's series holds the audience's attention, but data suggests that interest may be waning, something Netflix has been facing with several of its longest-running series.

The show that seems to have found its audience is The Girl at Rowing , which jumped to 11.3 million views in its second week, more than doubling its premiere performance. The teen drama about a 16-year-old girl who becomes the coxswain of a boys' rowing team at an elite private school has been renewed by the platform.

The Gentlemen of Crime continues to occupy two positions in the ranking. The second season maintained third place, with 6 million views, while the first appeared in fifth, with 3.4 million.
