Who Dies in 'House of the Dragon' Season 3? See Updated List

Jason Lannister

The first time we see Daemon in the third season, he is on a battlefield where the fighting has only just ended. Lions are being beheaded, and we see that the victory was over the Lannisters, who fled into the forest. When Daemon orders the army to go after the enemy, the Stark army emerges from the woods and declares that they fight for the “Dragon Queen". A head is thrown toward Daemon, and we see that it is Jason Lannister’s.

Tyland Lannister

After allying with the Triarchy, Tyland Lannister sails with Lohar to the Battle of the Gullet. The admiral advises him not to wear armor at sea, since if he fell into the water, he would sink. When Corlys Velaryon, the Sea Snake, sets a trap for Lohar’s ship to pass through a narrow channel and run aground on the rocks, she orders that all extra weight be thrown overboard. Lohar then grabs Tyland and throws him, along with his soldiers, into the sea. Just as she had said: they all sink because of their armor.

Sharako Lohar

Admiral Sharako Lohar has a plan. She takes advantage of the idea of joining her fleet with Tyland Lannister’s army to finally get her revenge on Corlys Velaryon. When the Sea Snake sets the trap and Lohar escapes it, the warrior manages to strike Corlys’s ship and boards the vessel, fighting her rival. What she didn’t expect was Alyn’s attack—Corlys’s son, who, after his father falls into the sea, fights Lohar, tries to drown her, and finally delivers a fatal blow with a dagger

Jacaerys “Jace” Velaryon

Rhaenyra’s son tries to protect his mother by coming up with a plan to keep her locked in her chambers so she won’t go to the Battle of the Gullet. With Ser Lorent Marbrand’s help in locking her in, Jace leaves with Baela for war aboard Vermax and Moondancer. Although they achieve good results, burning ships and escaping Lohar’s attack, who tries to kill Vermax, things take a turn when Rhaena appears riding Sheepstealer but is unable to control him, with the dragon attacking allied ships. Jace tries to stop the situation, but Vermax is struck by a harpoon. With the wound left open, he is unable to fly and ends up crashing into the sea and sinking. When he resurfaces, Jace tries to swim toward a piece of wood to stay afloat, but he is struck by several arrows.

Ser Simon Strong

At Harrenhal, Aemond burns knights with Vhagar, killing others with his sword. He enters the hall and asks for Daemon, but Ser Simon Strong says he is not there. Aemond wants a fight, but the lord says he does not have a sword and offers some other kind of help. Aemond kills him, as well as his son, but ends up taking a blow to the back. Alys Rivers appears and stares at the young man, who is suffering from the wound and falls at her feet asking for help.

Otto Hightower

As Rhaenyra receives the prisoners who supported her in the Iron Throne room after retaking King’s Landing, Daemon appears with a prisoner delivered to him by Maester Orwyle: Otto Hightower. Alicent’s father is forced to kneel before the queen. Rhaenyra hesitates to kill the man who betrayed her claim, but when he tries to say something, the Queen of Dragons strikes him in the neck. The blow does not take off his head, but she does not miss the second one and kills Otto. 

Lord Jasper Wylde

Arrested after trying to attack Alicent while blackmailing her for knowing her plans, Lord Jasper is also brought in along with Otto and ends up being killed by Daemon almost immediately.

Sister Luthor Largent

In the fifth episode, Ser Luthor Largent is brutally murdered by agents linked to Ormund Hightower, who place his body and those of several Gold Cloaks on a table, like a grotesque feast, with the phrase "A Banquet for Traitors" written in blood.

Ser Criston Cole

It took a while, but it finally happened. Criston Cole’s story came to an end in the sixth episode of House of the Dragon’s third season.  The knight marched on with the few soldiers he had left through a field covered in bodies, until he was caught off guard by an ambush. After defeating the first enemies, Cole and his men end up surrounded by the troops of the Starks, the Tullys, and other allies of Rhaenyra. The knight raises his sword with the handkerchief he received from Alicent, but he doesn’t even have time to strike: three arrows hit him from a distance, killing off a character who had already overstayed his welcome in the story.

Corlys Velaryon? To Be Confirmed...

After a meeting with his son Alyn, Corlys addresses his men, declaring that the time has come to return and help Rhaenyra. At that moment, men emerge from the shadows of the night and attack the Sea Snake’s riders, leaving it unclear whether he was killed or not. Leading the attack is Ser Jon Roxton, the Bold, Ormund’s right-hand man.
