LAIKA's Stop-Motion 'Wildwood' Gets New Poster

LAIKA Studios has released a beautiful new poster for its new animation, Wildwood. In addition, it was announced that the final trailer will be released this Wednesday (16). It is worth noting that the film is frequently cited as a strong contender for the 2027 Oscars, appearing on lists from specialized media outlets such as Variety.

The story follows Prue McKeel, a teenager who decides to enter a magical and forbidden forest on the outskirts of Portland after her younger brother, Mac, is taken by a flock of crows. Alongside her schoolmate Curtis, she traverses the so-called Impenetrable Forest in search of the boy and ends up discovering a world inhabited by talking animals, criminals, and powerful figures involved in a conflict that threatens the entire kingdom.

In addition to Travis Knight directing, the film will have a screenplay by Chris Butler, adapted from the work of Colin Meloy . The cast includes Angela Bassett, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, and Amandla Stenberg.

Wildwood arrives in theaters on October 30th.
