A Mad Hatter Animated Film is in the Works at Amazon MGM Studios, Report Says

According to exclusive information from Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios is developing an animated Mad Hatter movie, with Scott Mosier (producer and actor in Clerks) handling the adaptation.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the project revolves around the iconic character from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, famous for his tea parties with the March Hare and the Dormouse.

The production comes from Aniventure, with Adam Nagle producing. Negotiations were led by Aniventure’s head of content, Joe Della Rosa, along with Sasha Levites and Adam Macy of Frankfurt Kernit.

Mosier co-wrote and produced the animated film Free Birds (2013) and co-directed Illumination’s animated feature The Grinch (2018), which grossed more than $500 million worldwide. 

He also appeared throughout the entire Clerks franchise, produced several Kevin Smith films, and lent his voice to productions such as Sing 2, The Secret Life of Pets 2, and The Grinch.

Founded in 2014, Aniventure has already developed, produced, and distributed films and series with studios such as Amazon, Netflix, Paramount and Sony.
