Who’s Already Confirmed for 'X-Men'? See Rumors and Fan-Favorites

Confirmed: Samara Weaving - Emma Frost

The big news this week is that casting for the new X-Men has officially begun, and Samara Weaving, star of films like Ready or Not, as well as smaller but no less interesting productions such as Carolina Caroline, has been confirmed as Emma Frost, the White Queen. The character is an omega-level telepathic mutant who was once a villain and later became one of the X-Men’s most important leaders. 

Confirmed: Sadie Sink - Jean Grey

The first confirmed name on the list came in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and the confirmation of Sadie Sink as Jean Grey. We’ve already been able to see a bit of her powers and just how much potential she has for the future of the MCU. An excellent start.

Rumor: Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister

After playing Kylo Ren, Adam Driver would take on the role of one of the X-Men’s main villains, paving the way for an Age of Apocalypse in theaters in the future, with the possibility of appearing in several films and storylines involving Madelyne Pryor, among others. 

Rumor: Bill Skarsgård as Professor Xavier

From IT to Professor Xavier,  Bill Skarsgård would have a major career turning point, playing a younger version of the X-Men leader, which is great for the producers since the plan is to have an entire saga focused on the mutants.

Rumor: Cailee Spaeny as Rogue

Known for strong roles like the photojournalist in Civil War and Priscilla Presley in Priscilla, by Sofia Coppola, Cailee Spaeny is one of the standout names of Hollywood’s new generation and would be an excellent casting choice for the character beloved by mutant fans. Rogue also carries the drama of being raised as a villain by Mystique, as well as her mutation that allows her to absorb powers through touch.

Rumor: Charles Melton as Beast

Like Spaeny, Charles Melton has also been landing strong roles in acclaimed films, such as May December, by Todd Haynes. The actor has the physical presence and dramatic range to play Hank McCoy, the brilliant scientist who transforms into the blue-furred mutant.

Rumor: Jamie Lawson as Storm

One of the stars of Sinners, considered by many to be the big movie of 2025, Jamie Lawson showed that she has a knack for drama, comedy, with her sharp remarks in the film, and singing, in the performance she gave with “Pale Moon”. All of this, combined with her closeness to Ryan Coogler, rumors that we might see Ororo in Black Panther 3, and the director’s influence at Marvel, makes the actress one of the strongest names to keep an eye on.

Rumor: Drew Starkey as Cyclops

In recent days, the name of the Outer Banks and Queer actor has gained traction among rumors to play Scott Summers, Cyclops. The 32-year-old actor could portray the X-Men leader, since he would appear as a “less youthful” figure while still not seeming much older than the rest of the cast.

Who we want: Domhnall Gleeson and Patrick Wilson as Professor Xavier

Domhall Gleeson deserves a major franchise to wash away the bitter taste left by the ending of his General Hux in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Patrick Wilson, meanwhile, would arrive as an older figure than the young X-Men, widening the age gap and bringing a greater sense of wisdom, without us needing to see a Xavier at the start of his career.

Who we want: Jason Isaacs, Adrien Brody, Jack O’Connell, and Viggo Mortensen as Magneto

This is a battle of heavyweights. Any one of these names would be an excellent choice to play Henry Lehnsherr. Brody would bring out the character’s more dramatic side, backed by his experience—and two Oscars.

Jason Isaacs is famous for his performance as Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter, and would bring the perfect intensity to the role. Jack O’Connell shined over the past year in Sinners and 28 Years Later, proving he knows how to play a great villain, which would make him a terrific option for a younger Magneto.

As for Mortensen, the oldest of the three, he hardly needs any introduction, blending the elegance of King Aragorn with the power of his roles in films by David Cronenberg and dramas like The Road and Captain Fantastic. 

Who we want: Kit Connor as Beast

The Heartstopper fan-favorite actor has the perfect physical build to play Hank and his mutant transformation. He would be a great choice for a younger Beast and, who knows, maybe a future MCU meeting with Wiccan, played by Joe Locke.

Who we want: Patrick Gibson as Cyclops

Patrick Gibson brought serial killer Dexter to life in the prequel Original Sin, and the video game version of 007 in the highly acclaimed First Light. The actor could play a younger Scott Summers, learning to lead the X-Men.

Who we want: Jaime Campbell Bower as Angel

The king of next-generation franchises has already been Henry, or Vecna, in Stranger Things, will be Celeborn in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and has also taken on roles in Harry Potter, Twilight—the list goes on. After playing a demon in the Netflix series, nothing like an Angel and a hero to shake up that filmography a bit.

Who we want: Caleb McLaughlin as Spyke

Originally from X-Men: Evolution, Storm’s nephew has the power to project and launch bone spikes. He joins the Morlocks in the sewers after his mutation spirals out of control and transforms him into an armored form. Since we might not be seeing Caleb McLaughlin as Miles Morales, he could as well show up in the X-Men.

Who we want: Odessa A'zion and Inde Navarrette as Rogue

Two major movie stars in recent months. Odessa A'zion shined in Marty Supreme and in the excellent HBO series I Love L.A. Inde, meanwhile, has become Hollywood’s darling after the huge success of Obsession and is one of the names being considered for the 2027 Oscars. Honestly? Either one would be a great choice.
