The “Home Trilogy,” as Marvel itself calls it, consists of the three films starring Tom Holland: Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021). The trilogy marks Holland’s Peter Parker coming of age and the beginning of his adult life, with the third movie delivering the biggest leap in maturity for the MCU’s Spider-Man and becoming the foundation for the new film arriving soon.

The Punisher: One Last Kill

The Punisher special starring Jon Bernthal shows Frank Castle dealing with the ghosts of his past while searching for a purpose beyond revenge. However, chaos puts him back in the fight once again as he seeks vengeance against his family’s killers. The special is said to take place shortly before the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, making it very important for understanding the Punisher’s motivations during the film.

The Incredible Hulk

Besides being set in Brazil, the 2008 film starring Edward Norton is considered by Marvel to be part of the MCU, with the only difference being that Mark Ruffalo has played Bruce Banner since The Avengers. In the movie, Bruce Banner hides out in Brazil while desperately searching for a cure to gamma radiation and fleeing the United States government. The film also features Tim Roth as Abomination and William Hurt, who played General Ross until he was replaced by Harrison Ford in Captain America: Brave New World following his death in 2022.

X-Men

The first X-Men movie lands in our bonus category thanks to rumors that Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In the film, we get the first adventure of the mutants led by Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Cyclops (James Marsden), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), and Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) against Magneto (Ian McKellen) and the Brotherhood of Mutants. It’s also worth remembering that some of the same X-Men from the Fox films will return in Avengers: Doomsday, which makes revisiting the movie essential either way.
