'The Batman' Composer to Return for Sequel, Matt Reeves Confirms

Michael Giacchino, responsible for composing the score for The Batman, is seemingly back on board for the sequel starring Robert Pattinson. In an interview with ScreenRant, the composer stated that he would be surprised if Matt Reeves didn't extend out an invitation for him to participate in the film. 

"I don’t think there’s a world where Matt Reeves would allow me not to be involved", said the composer, reinforcing his friendship with the director. Not long after, Reeves took to social media to confirm that Giacchino is "100%" joining the sequel. 

Although the extent of the composer's participation wasn't detailed, The Batman: Part II director make sure to reaffirm his invitation with three bat emojis. Check it out below:

While the DCU will have its own Batman through the film The Brave and the Bold, which will adapt stories of Bruce Wayne alongside Damian Wayne, his son, as Robin, Matt Reeves continues developing his standalone Dark Knight saga, which is part of what James Gunn, CEO of DC Studios, has called the Elseworlds label. This label is given to stories that are not part of the universe launched by the new Superman movie.

The first Batman starring Robert Pattinson hit theaters in 2022 and grossed nearly $772 million.

Dubbed the Batman Crime Saga, this narrative places Robert Pattinson in the role of a young Bruce Wayne, in his early years as the Dark Knight. Zoë Kravitz is Catwoman, Colin Farrell is the Penguin, Paul Dano played the villain Riddler, and John Turturro is Carmine Falcone. Jeffrey Wright was the new Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis played Alfred.
